A day in the life

September 18, 2012

Is it just me or is time going by faster and faster. There is a saying that time flies when you are having fun. What about when you have two kids and a house to paint? Most of the time the days pass by quickly, usually because we are running errands or doing household chores, (or at least I am!) Today was a combination of everything. The day went by quickly...dinner in slow cooker, Serena down for a nap, moon/cloud dough, errands and soccer. In between were tantrums, potty training upsets (not from me) and endless talks with Reya about listening. "Are you listening?" "Did you hear what I just said?" Maybe it is the day. Reya is sensitive to my moods and lately I have been grumpy and stressed. I will go with that though it did not make it any easier.
On a lighter note, today we made Moon/Cloud dough! I bookmarked the site weeks ago and even told Reya we would be making it soon...soon turned into weeks and each time she asked I would say, "maybe later" or "maybe when Serena wakes up from her nap." Each time she would look at me with excitement and then I am sure disappointment when it did not happen. Today was the day though...the girls had a blast and I am proud of myself for letting them be messy and have fun and they even helped clean up! Oh the joys in life!

Yes, it was a good day. The girls and I just need to remember to get outside when it gets emotional and crazy.

Moon/Cloud dough scented with Lavender oil...yes, I am that mom!

Reya really wanted to give Serena her good night bottle. This is Reya at 4 years old and Serena at 1 year old.

Rewind 1.5 years...Reya age 3, Serena 4 weeks. Oh babies...my heart swells.

Good night, sweet dreams.
