Happy UnFacebook-ing!
I have made the decision to take a little break from the trap I call Facebook. It will be a nice break from the negative posts that people feel so inclined to share. Whatever happened to the adage, "If you have nothing nice to say, do not say anything at all." So for now I am choosing happiness.
Life has been extremely busy. I think most families can agree on this. The start of school brings new routines, new emotions and for us many, many sports games! Reya has started soccer and seems to be enjoying it. If enjoying it means running with the flock while chewing on her fingers! The first game went really well with a lot of participation and joy. She was excited to be the goalie and even saved two goals. The game this past weekend was spent running away from the ball while also pulling on her teammates arms, hands and legs. I have a feeling the more we push her to have fun and play the harder she will try to do the opposite. Oh well! I catch myself remembering that she is only four. Four, not fourteen, though some days it seems as though I already have a moody teenager. She seems so much older to me so it is hard to not expect her to act older.
Speaking of older. My baby, Serena is now almost a year and a half old. Old enough to shake her head no, (even when she means yes) climb on everything, walk up and down the stairs and choose what shoes she wants to wear. Yes, my littlest one is no longer a baby. I have not had the feeling of wanting another baby. Mostly in part because I have really been cherishing my sleep and time with Noah. I have also been able to enjoy motherhood with Serena in a way that I was not able to with Reya. It was different, somehow harder with Reya. This time around I can appreciate the good and know that the difficult will get easier to handle.
I leave you with this quote which seems to be very fitting for everything that is going on right now:
"Play fair. Don't hit people. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody."
~Robert Fulghum
